So we have one more day of school and Ethan will be officially on Summer Break! He has been counting the days since Christmas 🙂 Every morning he wakes up with his usual questions:
“What is the weather like today? What is the date today? Is it Summer yet? Are we going to the beach? Are we going to “OUR” hotel at the beach? When will we go? How many days til we go? Can it please be Summer now?”
EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Oh my Sweet Boy has dreamed of these days. The days when we would be packing to go on our Summer vacation. He told me yesterday that he would need his own suitcase for the trip. Well ok then!
As we search for the beach toys, sun screen, and beach shoes…. I am also reminiscing about Ethan’s wonderful year in 2nd Grade. This has been the year of his Greatest Advances. I am proud, CrAzY, Silly, like need to get a sticker for my car to brag about it, THRILLED about this school year. And even though the beach is calling us, I have to admit that I am a little sad for this year to end. It has been that kind of great.
Of course with this ending will come new beginnings in the Fall. Yes, I am already mentally wringing my hands, a little. We already know who will be Ethan’s teacher. She is Super nice and structured. The most amazing part? She wants Ethan in her class. She told me that it would make her heart ‘so happy’ to have Ethan. Yep, a few tears dropped immediately upon hearing that comment. She wants him.
I know how FABULOUS Ethan is, but now, Others can see it too. I so believe in my Sweet Ethan. He is a Fighter and now a Winner. He works very hard just to be like us. He tells me that he is just like his friends now. For him to just see that there is a difference is amazing. For him to then desire to be like them and want to have friends, again – amazing. He has an internal desire to be social. This has really just emerged this year. The real Ethan is still emerging. I watch him in awe of the Creation that God entrusted me to raise. He is our little caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly. Right now, I envision him cracking and just starting to emerge from the chrysalis. I see the beautiful colors unfolding. I am amazed and excited at what I am starting to see….knowing that the best is yet to come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a New Creation. The Old has passed away; Behold the New has come.
Just as the song goes “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever.” Thank you Jesus, for the Blessings upon Blessings that you have rained on my Sweet Ethan. Behold, the new has come.
Keep looking up Dear Friends. He is Always Faithful.
Sounds like a wonderful year of hard work and much progress! Enjoy the summer with your sweet family Lisa 🙂
Thanks Erica! Lots of love to your Precious family!
